Announcements




Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella"
 
Potomac Senior High School's "Almost Ready for Prime Time" players present for your enjoyment, Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella".  It will be presented on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, 2014 at 7:30 pm and, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Potomac Auditorium.  Tickets will be $5.00.



Governor's School
 

Congratulations to Potomac's own Annette Tamakloe for being selected to participate in the Govenor's Residential Summer School for Humanities!

Each Summer Residential Governor’s School focuses on one special area of interest. Students live on a college or university campus for up to four weeks each summer. During this time, students are involved in classroom and laboratory work, field studies, research, individual and group projects and performances, and seminars with noted scholars, visiting artists, and other professionals. In the three mentorships, students are selected to work side-by-side with research scientists, physicians, and a variety of other professionals. A director and a student-life staff provide supervision of students 24 hours a day, throughout the program.


PTSO Teacher Appreciation Week; Help needed
 
The Potomac Senior High School PTSO is asking for help in putting on a Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on May 5, 2014.  The PTSO will graciously accept food donations, help with set-up and clean up and / or cash donations.  If you are interested in volunteering, contact Anne Will at alexanne@verizon.net soon please!




Cheerleader Tryouts
 
Cheerleading tryouts will be held May 6-9 from 6 PM to 8:15 PM in the auxiliary gym. All those trying out must attend a high school concussion training prior to tryouts. Pick up information packets in the main office or on the cheer website on the Potomac athletic page.



Prom
 
This year's Junior/Senior Prom will be held on May 24th, 2014 from 8 pm-12 am. The event will be held at the Continental Event Center, Manassas Va. Tickets will be on sale during all lunch shifts the week of May 12 – 16th. The cost for tickets are as follows: $70 per couple or $40 for a single ticket. We will ONLY accept cash or a money order, NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The forms are below that must be filled out completely to purchase a ticket.


Student Council Association (SCA) Elections
 
Interested in being a Class or SCA officer for the 2014-2015. Please complete the application and submit to Mrs. Wortham by 2:15 pm on Monday, April 28.


SOL Bell Schedule
 
SOL testing will begin May 5th and extend into June 2014.  Information will be posted here for the duration of testing.




Math SOL Review Resources!
 

Click on the link below for access to Math resources that will allow you to practice for the upcoming SOL Testing!



Attention Parents of 9-11 Grade Students!
 
Students must achieve a passing score on at least 6 high school level end-of-course SOL tests to receive a Standard Diploma or 9 high school SOL tests to receive an Advanced Studies Diploma. If your student has passed a class but not the SOL, the student has the opportunity to take the SOL during the Spring Retake Session, May 5 to 23, 2014.  Parents and students must fill out the form located at the link below to be able to participate.  Please review the form for further informtion about this important task completion.

School Registration Information
 
Are you a new student going to attend Potomac Senior High School next year?  Wondering what to do first to enroll?  The first thing to do is get an appointment by calling 703-441-4269 between 8:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m.

Yearbooks are on Sale!
 
It is that time of year again!  Order your yearbooks early to ensure you get a copy.

Click on the logo to the left and use Order Number 4658 to place an order with Herff Jones.  Cost is $73.50.

If you wish to pay by cash or by check, go to Room 9004 for the order form.  Cost for paying cash or check is $70.00.  Only 300 yearbooks were ordered this year so do not get left out!

Did you have a schedule change?

You must drop your old classes in School Fusion. After you login to your student account, click on My Account then My Personal Settings. On the Fusion Pages tab click the red x to remove yourself from your old classes.

Need to change your email address?
You must log into Parent Portal then click on "My Account" to change your email address. It will sync overnight with School Fusion.


Potomac Senior High School - PP
 

View grades and attendance.

If you have an account from last year at a PWCS School, you can use it to access PP or if you are new to PWC Schools register for your new Parent Portal account today!  All parents should have a Parent Portal account. 

Click on the Parent Portal link at the left of the web page to register for a new account or to log into your activated account.

Bring your email confirmation to Potomac for activation any school day from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1) If you created an account last year, it is still the same user name and password this year.
2) Need to update your email address or change your password? Click on settings at the top right of the Parent Portal screen.
3) Student Schedule Changes: The old classes will always appear in the Schedules tab but will be italicized.  Under the Assignments tab, the assignments from the old class will be dropped at the end of the marking period.
4) Grades are updated overnight every night seven day a week.

Student Parking Permits!

Student parking permits for the 2013 / 2014 school year are now on sale.  The cost is $100.00 per permit.  Any student parking on school grounds, must have a permit!

Registration forms and permits may be obtained in the Potomac Senior High School front office.
