Freshman and New Student Information!

Potomac welcomes all incoming freshman and new students to our orientation at your school.  It will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 8:00-11:30 am.  There will be information about clubs, sports and activities and other important information.  Click here for the bus schedule for students for this event.

Class of 2015 - Senior Breakfast!
Attention Class of 2015 and Parents!

You can now RSVP to your Senior Breakfast, which will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at 8am in the PSHS enclosed Cafeteria. Click here for the flyer with more information.  
Log into your Naviance account at http://connection.naviance.com/potomacsenior. (Be advised that you may have to type in the web address as the link may not work properly). For those who forgot, your username is your student ID number and the password is your birth date, MMDDYY. Click on the "About Me" tab. On the left, click on "Senior Breakfast RSVP" and this will bring you to the short survey.

"Get on the Bus" College Tour
The "Get on the Bus" College Tour will take off this Fall and we are ready to fill the seats! The trip is open to rising juniors and seniors. We will tour Christopher Newport University, Norfolk University, James Madison University, Old Dominion University, Radford University, University of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Virginia State University.

The total cost of the 3-day college tour is $320. Collection for the deposit of $120 will begin on May 28th. The remainder of $200 will be due in the Fall. Seats are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Each link below represents a summer assignment in a particular class (es) that indicates a deadline.  If you are enrolled in any of these classes, click on the link for additional information.

Student Parking Permits!

Student parking permits for the 2014 / 2015 school year are now on sale.  The cost is $100.00 per permit.  Any student parking on school grounds, must have a permit!

Students must have a parking pass for their vehicle prior to the last day of September, 2014.

Registration forms and permits may be obtained in the Potomac Senior High School front office.

School Supplies for 2014-2015 School Year!
Parent Portal and Class Pages Access Will Change this Summer
Effective June 9, parents who currently have a Parent Portal user account will no longer be able to edit their contact information online. Changes can be made by contacting their school office.

The Parent Portal will display student grades and contact information for the 2013-14 school year until June 28, when it will go offline for yearly maintenance. The Parent Portal will be back online on July 14. Summer school grades will not be displayed on the Parent Portal.

Classroom Web pages for school year 2013-14 will be available to view during the summer. However, they will go offline August 11. New class Web pages for 2014-15 will go live in August (date to be announced) after student schedules have been finalized for the upcoming school year.

Parents who do not have a Parent Portal user account by June 9 must wait until August to establish their account. School Web sites will announce a date when parents can apply.

School Registration Information
Are you a new student going to attend Potomac Senior High School next year?  Wondering what to do first to enroll?  The first thing to do is get an appointment by calling 703-441-4269 between 8:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m.

Student's Rights to Special Programs and Services
The Prince William County Public Schools Division is required to inform the community of a student’s right to a free, appropriate public education and the availability of programs and services, including a special education.

View grades and attendance.

If you have an account from last year at a PWCS School, you can use it to access PP or if you are new to PWC Schools register for your new Parent Portal account today!  All parents should have a Parent Portal account. 

Click on the Parent Portal link at the left of the web page to register for a new account or to log into your activated account.

Bring your email confirmation to Potomac for activation any school day from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

1) If you created an account last year, it is still the same user name and password this year.
2) Need to update your email address or change your password? Click on settings at the top right of the Parent Portal screen.
3) Student Schedule Changes: The old classes will always appear in the Schedules tab but will be italicized.  Under the Assignments tab, the assignments from the old class will be dropped at the end of the marking period.
4) Grades are updated overnight every night seven day a week.
